LOTUSPHERE,ORLANDO, FL, January 21, 2008 – Trilog Group, Inc., a leading
provider of collaborative project management
solutions, today announced ProjExec® Express for IBM® Lotus® Quickr™ 8, the first full-featured project
scheduling and tracking that works with Quickr services for WebSphere Portal
and provides two-way
synchronization with Microsoft Project. Trilog Group, a finalist for the
2008 Lotus CTO Award honoring visionary IBM Business Partners who are exploiting
Lotus' latest collaborative capabilities in innovative and leading-edge ways, is
demonstrating the new project place templates for Quickr at Lotusphere 2008 in
Orlando, Florida at pedestals 401 and 402 in the Product Showcase exhibition
hall.
Trilog Group has worked directly
with the IBM Lotus Quickr team to create ProjExec Express, adding robust project
management and scheduling capabilities to the set of pre-built Lotus Quickr
templates and extending the value of Quickr to accommodate project management
methodologies and best practices.
With a focus on J2EE platforms, ProjExec Express for Quickr features
two-way synchronization between ProjExec project places in Quickr and Microsoft
Project, dynamic visual Gantt tracking, full Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
representation of all project work and deliverables on a standard Gantt time
axis, full scheduling and color-coded tracking capabilities, and enhanced
personal work/task management views - all above and beyond the built-in Quickr
task list component. ProjExec
Express also allows project resources to be managed and assigned directly from
Quickr place members.
“ProjExec Express for Quickr
greatly expands the project collaboration options for IBM customers, because
Quickr users now have the option to instantly collaborate on project plans
designed using Microsoft Project, or perform all WBS construction and project
scheduling directly in their Quickr project place with ProjExec Express,” said
Alex Homsi, President and CEO, Trilog Group. “This unique integrated solution,
combining the robust features of Trilog’s award-winning ProjExec solution with
Lotus Quickr Services for WebSphere Portal, offers customers a competitive, more
affordable alternative to Microsoft Project Server and Sharepoint.”
From Team Collaboration to
Project Collaboration
Project collaboration has long
been identified by the Lotus Quickr team as a recurring customer requirement.
In combination, ProjExec Express
and Quickr allow Quickr users to not only share project documents, but also to
collaborate on project tasks, milestones, and deliverables.
“ProjExec Express does not change
the way project managers plan or schedule tasks conventionally, rather it
enhances the execution phase through integration with Microsoft Project, a
highly popular tool popular among project managers,” said Ravinder Shan, Vice
President of Business Development, Trilog Group. “There is a distinct difference between
managing a project in the generic sense and managing a project in the formal
sense. ProjExec Express for Quickr
enables project managers to continue to follow best practices while improving
project success with enhanced collaboration, tracking and control.”
